Its purpose is a customisation expressly requested by you, covered by the exceptions of Article 22.2 of the LSSI-CE. Using local storage instead of a cookie does not in itself remove the obligations regarding storage on the device.
How to delete them
You can delete both pieces of data from your browser settings, in the website data or privacy section. The website will keep working: it will use your system's light or dark mode and will create the security cookie again if you reopen the request page.
